A slideshow of mostly downrigger salmon fishing pictures, mostly caught on my SUPER GLOW Spoons, set to Mr Sambo by Richie Sambora. These pics span from the beginning of the spoons legacy(no tattoos), past the little aluminum boat faze to modern times. A few fly fishing pics from fall 2006 finish the show. Enjoy!
How many trout did you see?
The biggest trout are further out but you can clearly see the # of small trout hitting the Blue Winged Olive Mayflies that were hatching out. Occasionally I hooked one but not in this take.
Another version, different editor and stuff.... Only my second Largemouth of my life thru the ice at this point. Ended up with6 on the year, including an 18 inch+ hawg.
Count the rises as I try to hook 1 of hundreds of trout at my feet. The rises were a 100 a minute at times and the Blue Winged Olives were everywhere. Tons of little guys and a few lunkers. Hard to hook any with so many naturals around. Great fun though...
A sneek peak at the Top 12 FortuneSpoons Mini Fish Scale patterns on the 3/4 ounce, 3 1/2 inch blade. Each spoon comes with 2 oval, magnesium alloy split rings and a nickle plated Siwash hook. These spoons perform great trolling or casting. My clients catch BIG Salmon, Trout, Pike, Bass, Drum and many others on these spoons.
They are available now on www.fortunespoons.co m
Crappie, Rock Bass and Silver Bass were the quarry today as spring had finally sprung and I got out in the boat. Trout aren't totally outy of the question in the estuary of the local river. She tapped a tiny glow tube jig. She was a drop back and was absorbing her few left-over eggs and already starting 2 new tiny skeins. Probably the only one I'll take this year. Yummy.
Steelhead on the flyrod. Not the best video but a few good jumps. A good size hen inhales my streamer despite being ripe with eggs in early May. She gets it deep in the gill rakers and fights hard before becoming the only casualty of the season. Even the pinched barb on the fly didnt help. I release almost all fish but not if it wont make it !!
This editor seems best. A quick hand off and I get some footage of my first pike of the year. We had inch a hour snow squalls that day(check out the plaid coat) and most of the pike were pretty small. This one ended up as the biggest of the day. I pinch my barbs to aid in the quick release.
A nice little resident rainbow trout caught on #16 BWO dry fly. In the first 20 seconds of video you can just make out the #18 Black Stonefly crawling on the rock, bottom left. They were also hatching out with a scarse few #10/8 Black Stoneflies coming off too. I also did well with the #14 black beadhead. The best trout came, of course, after I had filled the 1 gig card. Hope you enjoy this !!!
Wicked Weather with Lightning strikes. Before, doring and after the storm broke. Near the end I get a nice 'little' surprize. This front chased me for a half hour. I was stck in 90 kms for a bit and it kept up. Once I got over 100 kms, I got ahead of it and stopped to film.

Under water chinook close up footage. Low water levels made for great filming as you can see. The fish had to rest a lot from running hard, up low and skinny water. Gave me an opportunity to share a rarely seen sight, up close, real close !!
